ABOUT THE BAR

Where can I buy Linear Bar?

Linear Bar is available at all Erewhon Stores, Lazy Acres Market, Amazon and LinearBar.com. We’re also at select gyms and 7-11s. Check out the store locator for more details.

Why is your bar so expensive?

Oddly enough our bar is competitively priced by volume.
Linear Bar is 70grams or 2.5 ounces of clean organic ingredients.
When compared to smaller bars, Linear bar costs less per gram that many popular brands filled with toxins: Here’s an example:

>> LINEAR VS. COMPETITION <<

BRAND TOTAL WT. PROTEIN PRICE PER GRAM
LINEAR 70G 20G $0.05
BUILT 40G 15G $0.06
QUEST 52G 18G $0.06
BAREBELLS 55G 20G $0.05

What makes Linear Bar different from all the other protein bars on the market?

Linear Bar is a Higher Bar! It’s the cleanest, most delicious protein bar you have ever tried! It is designed to taste just like the candy bars we all grew up with, but made with all organic ingredients, without chemicals, seed oils, or anything artificial. It is not dry or chalky, and leaves no nasty aftertaste from artificial sweeteners. It doesn’t cause bloating and gives you 20 grams of complete organic protein to fuel your workouts of your day. You have to try it to believe it!

Are there any allergens in the bar?

Peanuts, Tree Nuts (Coconut), and Milk

What are the net carbs in a Linear Bar?

Linear lists 29 carbs on the label, but after subtracting the 12 grams of fiber and the 9 grams of sugar alcohols from coconut glycerine, the net carbs are just 8 grams per bar.

What are the macros of a Linear Bar?

20grams protein- 8 net carbs- 10g fat

What is the source of your fat?

Linear Bar has 10 grams of fat from coconut oil and cocoa butter. These fats are incredibly good for the brain and overall wellbeing.

How much sugar is in a bar?

7 grams per 70g bar - it is a large bar! We use a small amount of real organic cane sugar to bring together a satisfying blend of unique ingredients without any weird aftertaste.

For reference, an average banana has 13 grams of sugar and around 3 grams of fiber. A Linear Bar has 7 grams of sugar and 12 grams of fiber…plus 20 grams of protein.

Why does the bar contain sugar?

Linear Protein bar contains 7 grams of organic cane sugar per 70 gram bar. One gram of sugar equals 4 calories, so Linear protein bar has 28 total calories that contain sugar as a part of a 270 calorie bar. The American Heart Association has stated guidelines for adult men not to exceed 150 calories per day of sugar and 100 calories of sugar for women.

Sugar balances the bitterness of cocoa, enhances flavor development and contributes to texture and overall mouthfeel. Because Linear Protein Bar uses Organic Cane sugar instead of sugar free alternatives the experience is one of complete satisfaction from the mouth taste receptors to the taste receptors present in the lining of the stomach as well as other parts of the gastrointestinal tract. Artificial sweeteners do not provide that level of satisfaction, and have other negative health consequences.

Also, when sugar and fiber are combined, sugar is digested at a slower rate having a less dramatic effect on blood sugar. Linear Bars have 12grams of fiber per bar, significantly slowing the absorption of the sugar.

Where does your fiber come from?

Linear bar uses Organic Agave Inulin and Organic Tapioca Fiber.

Organic Agave Inulin is a prebiotic fiber, meaning it serves as food for beneficial gut bacteria and potentially aides in digestion. It is derived from the agave plant and it usually occurs as a fine white powder with a mild sweet flavor. IInulin may slow down the absorption of sugars in the digestive tract, potentially helping to stabilize blood sugar levels.

Organic Tapioca Fiber is a natural, plant-based fiber from the cassava root. It supports digestion and adds a soft, chewy texture to snacks. Tapioca fiber is a prebiotic fiber promoting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria. It is allergen free and suitable for most people with dietary restrictions. Tapioca is low in saturated fat and sodium and contains potassium which can help regulate blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease. It may also contribute to bone health due to its calcium content.

What is the source of your sugar alcohols and why does the bar have them?

Not all sugar alcohols are created equally! The most common sugar alcohols come in the form of Xylitol, Erythritol, Sorbitol, Maltitol, Isomalt, Lactitol and hydrogenated starch hydrolysates. These are processed as low digestible carbs thru the small intestine because they are not completely absorbed. Fiber and resistant starch are also considered low digestible carbs.

Linear Protein Bar uses Coconut Glycerin. It is completely different and actually has numerous health benefits. Coconut Glycerine attracts and retains moisture, it can enhance the overall taste and texture due to its mild natural flavor and ability to bind water.

Coconut glycerine is derived from coconuts, making it a more sustainable alternative to synthetic ingredients, and healthier than those made from soybean or palm oils.

If consumption of Glycerin is kept under 15 grams, it should not affect the digestive tract or other digestive concerns.

I see there is stevia in the bar; I don’t like the aftertaste of stevia.

We use a small amount of organic stevia to enhance sweetness, but you won’t notice any aftertaste in your Linear Bar. That is partly because we use purified stevia that is not combined with any other sweeteners. Many stevia ingredients combine stevia and erythritol, a sugar alcohol which creates that unpleasant, metallic aftertaste and can also lead to bloating and digestive issues.

Why do you include rosemary extract?

It is a natural preservative derived from organic rosemary leaves, known for its antioxidant properties, and it is a safe, natural way to keep the bar fresh.

Why are there so many ingredients?

Linear Bar has three unique layers, so there are ingredients for the chocolate, the caramel, and protein core. Each ingredient is organic and carefully chosen to deliver the taste of your favorite candy bar without any toxic or inflammatory ingredients.

Do you have any other flavors?

Not yet, but they will be coming soon!

COMPETITOR INGREDIENTS

What is sucralose and why is it bad?

Sucralose is an artificial sweetener often sold under the brand name Splenda. It may negatively affect gut health by reducing beneficial bacteria in the gut microbiome. It can also contribute to glucose intolerance. Some research has linked sucralose to genotoxicity, meaning it may damage DNA. Additionally, studies suggest that heating sucralose can lead to the formation of potentially harmful chlorinated organic compounds.

What is maltitol and why is it bad?

Maltitol is a sugar alcohol used as a sweetener. It can cause bloating, gas, and digestive discomfort, particularly in people with sensitivities. It may also raise or spike blood sugar levels higher than actual sugar  in some individuals.

What is erythritol and why is it bad?

Erythritol is another sugar alcohol used as a sweetener. While less likely to cause digestive distress than maltitol, large quantities can still lead to bloating and gas as well as other potential negative effects on cardiovascular health.

What are seed oils and why are they bad?

Seed oils are highly processed oils, and are chemically extracted, deodorized and refined. They are rich in omega-6 fatty acids and have been associated with inflammation and increased risk of chronic diseases.
