I'm the creator & founder of Linear Bar.

In my inner circle, some of my closest friends have referred to me affectionately as “the firehouse eater" because I am usually the first to clean my plate. 

When I was creating Linear Bar, as a total food geek, I wanted to make something clean and free of things like seed oils and sucralose, even experimenting with coconut to avoid using mainstream sugar alcohols that are normally derived from harmful stuff. 

But I also had another goal - I wanted to slow myself down. I intentionally designed the bar to take a little longer to eat than a soft, highly processed alternative.

That's why we named the original bar "Chewy Gooey Caramel."

The benefits? Well, most people are familiar with GLP-1 medications for weight loss. What many people don't know is that slow chewing naturally increases GLP-1 levels while suppressing ghrelin, the hunger hormone.

Slowing chewing also increases saliva production, which contains enzymes like amylase that begin breaking down food into smaller particles, allowing your body to extract amino acids during digestion.

Slow chewing can also reduce acid reflux and bloating associated with swallowing air.

Finally, it can contribute to better oral health by neutralizing bacteria and possibly creating a healthier mouth pH.

So take the time to slow down and enjoy what we like to call "Linear Moments" -- a small pause in the day to savor every bite of your Linear Bar. Chew slowly, be present, and enjoy the experience. Chances are, you’ll feel more satisfied afterward, and your body will thank you for it.
